When & why did you begin bass fishing? I started bass fishing competitively when I was 16 years old. I’ve always been a competitive person and I loved to fish. Bass tournaments were a perfect combination.

What has been your most memorable moment when it comes to fishing so far? Winning the 1998 MBAA National Championship on Lake Texoma. It was the best 3 days of tournament fishing in my life.

Biggest catch; when & where: 20.5 lbs – Norton, KS, May, mid 90s, flipping a jig

Do you have a good luck charm or certain thing you do when it comes to fishing? If so, what is it? Yes, I pray as I idle out in the morning

Name someone who is a hero to you & would like to meet someday? My Dad is the one person I consider my hero. He’s been there for me since the day I started fishing tournaments and we’ve had a lot of fun fishing together over the last 29 years.

What would it mean to you to win the 2010 TBFNC in Knoxville, TN? Winning the National Championship would be the greatest accomplishment of my fishing career. I’ve tried to make it as a pro in the past but the concerns of a job and family obligations made it tough. Winning the “Living the Dream” package would give me another chance at making it as a pro without the financial concerns.
