Jonathon VanDam looks back at the Northern Open. Finishing in 44th place, just a little over two pounds out of the cut, JVD told us he really would not change a lot about the way he fished the tournament. 
Jon said most guys were just hunting around St. Clair looking for five bites, “it was a deal where you would fish around for miles without a bite and come across a spot where you could catch a few good ones.” Most of Jon’s fish were caught on a soon to be released Strike King Series 5 crankbait in the infamous Sexy Shad color. –Imagine that, a VanDam throwing a sexy shad crankbait.
