Skeeter/Yamaha Pro Dave Mansue gives us the lowdown on day 3 of the Northern Open. Dave started the final round at Lake Champlain with a lot of confidence. He returned to his shallow grass flat where he had caught 17 plus pounds on days 1 and 2. Dave started the day in 8th place well with in striking distance, he told us “its not often you put yourself in a position to win so you have to get it done.” Through out the tournament Dave caught multiple limits on a black/blue Baby Paca Craw rigged with a X-point hook. (3 limits of 3 pounders on day 2) Day 3 started off a little different with clouds and heavy boat traffic, it took along time to get the first bite. Even with expanding the area he could only manage 5 that weighed 11.9 finishing in the 25th spot. Looking back Dave said he should have moved to some back-up smallmouth spots but was pleased with his overall performance.
Congratulations to Dave Wolak on the Champlain win.
