Epic Baits Unveils Two New Cutting-Edge Jig Heads Designed for Forward-Facing Sonar Success
Odessa, TX – September 2025 – Epic Baits Fishing proudly announces the launch of two groundbreaking jig head designs at the 2025 ICAST show: the Matt Becker Scan Head and the Tungsten Shine Head. Both products are engineered to help anglers maximize their efficiency and effectiveness, particularly when utilizing today’s most advanced forward-facing sonar technology.
Matt Becker Scan Head
Developed in collaboration with Bass Pro Tour angler Matt Becker, the Scan Head features a uniquely designed concave head that pushes water on the retrieve to draw attention from targeted fish. A specialized flake coating enhances sonar visibility, delivering a crisper and clearer return on forward-facing sonar units.
To ensure bait security, Epic Baits incorporated a braided hook keeper, allowing anglers to apply a small dab of super glue for unmatched holding power—far outperforming traditional wire keepers. The Scan Head is offered in sizes ranging from 1/8 to ½ ounce, with hook sizes from 2/0 to 5/0, making it a versatile tool for a wide array of soft plastics and fishing techniques.
Tungsten Shine Head
The Tungsten Shine Head (Tungsten Ball Head Jig) is designed for anglers tired of soft plastics slipping or tearing. By replacing the common wire keeper with Epic’s Braided Keeper system, the Shine Head keeps baits firmly locked in place cast after cast. A small amount of super glue on the keeper provides unmatched durability, ensuring plastics last longer and stay secure even in demanding conditions.
Available in weights from 1/8 to 3/8 ounce and hook sizes from 2/0 to 5/0, the Shine Head offers precision and durability that serious anglers demand across a wide range of applications.
Innovation for Real-World Anglers
Both the Scan Head and Shine Head exemplify Epic Baits’ commitment to creating solutions for the challenges anglers face on the water. By combining angler-driven innovation with proven performance, Epic Baits continues to push the boundaries of jig head design.
